"Platonic Bodies" beschermd door prePATINA

Deze octaëder in Burgenland, Oostenrijk is een van de laatste kunstprojecten dat beeldhouwer Heinz Bruckschwaiger, voor zijn dood in 2019, realiseerde onder de titel "Platonic Bodies". Een van de speciale kenmerken van de twee op elkaar gestapelde pyramides, is de bekleding. Om het hout duurzaam te beschermen, koos de kunstenaar voor RHEINZINK prePATINA graphite-grey, dat met de jaren verandert vanwege het natuurljike patinateer proces. De straalvormige dakconstructie is gerealiseerd met felstechniek dakbeplating. Deze techniek maakt het mogelijk de dakplaten om met constructielijm vast te zetten en tegelijkertijd conventionele technieken toe te passen om de werking van de platen op te vangen. De Octaëder van Sigleß is van veraf te zien en biedt met zijn14 kijkramen inspirerende uitzichten helmaal naar het Neusiedl meer!

An octahedron in Burgenland, Austria, is one of the last art projects that sculptor Heinz Bruckschwaiger, who died in 2019, realised under the title "Platonic Bodies". One of the special features of the two four-sided pyramids, which have 14 viewing windows, is the cladding. To protect the wood permanently, the artist chose the RHEINZINK-prePATINA slate-grey surface, which changes over the years due to the patination process. The ray shape of the roofing was achieved with a standing seam roofing. On the one hand, this made it possible to secure the position of the sheets with common adhesives and, on the other hand, to make the transitions in the buckling areas using conventional tinsmithing techniques. The octahedron in the municipality of Sigleß is visible from afar and inspires with a view all the way to Lake Neusiedl.
